Changes... change!

Dear Friend,

It is a very important time in our lives; we are extremely excited about the things that the Lord is doing. In the last letter I wrote about our challenge to go to South Korea, the word that God gave us, in Acts 10. Since then we've been looking forward to this day…the day that we will leave.

We have been experiencing various feelings during this time of change. And on this I would speak more about "change." This is something that we all face in our lives, past, present, future, big or small changes. Change is something that shakes us, something that takes us out of our comfort zones, challenges us to step out, in faith into the unknown.

In our last newsletter we shared a little bit about our expectation through the word that God gave us. But today I would like to share about the difficulties we have been facing during this new challenge. We also believe that you too are facing the same challenges in your own life.

It is not very difficult to make changes when things are going very bad or even in times of failure, because in a situation like this, change is necessary. But it is very difficult make changes when everything is going well or when we are experiencing success, achievements and complishments.

Today we are in this place of achievements and accomplishments, our ministries and relationships are going well.

We can look back and see many of God's promises becoming a reality in our lives, ministries and relationships.

There are so many people whom we love and we would like to be around them, people who have invested into our lives, mentors, friends, family, but God has been challenging us to get out of our comfort zone, into the new and unknown place.

Ten years ago my comfort zone was to leave my city and go to YWAM Florianopolis (more than 1000km apart). Five years ago my challenge was to leave Brazil and come to South Africa, Tilanie’s challenge was to leave her house, job, city, family and come to YWAM Worcester. And our challenge together today is to leave Africa and go to Asia, South Korea.

Even though changes are challenging, it fuels us to hear God’s voice and to be obedient. Walking in faith, with our expectation in Him, our hearts are now once again in that place of total dependence on the Father, knowing that He has the best for us as His children.

There is no better place than at the feet of Jesus, where we surrender all, His love makes it worthy.

Our bags are packed!!!

"There is no better place than at the feet of Jesus, where we surrender all, His love makes it worthy." - no better way of saying this than what you wrote!!! Amen!!!! Also.. reading this makes me think of the prayer you received from kevin & laura starks from IWT... that you were both ready with "bags packed" to go as He leads!!! What a beautiful unfolding of a journey with God...

Hope that you are enjoying your first week in Korea!!! Praying that your time there will be fruitful. Hope to see you sometime soon, friends!
