Mozambique Outreach 2011

Dear Family and Friends,
We would like to share a bit with you about our outreach so-far here in Mozambique. It’ s been almost three weeks since we have crossed the Ressano Garcia Border of Mozam
bique and during this time we have travelled to Maputo, Dondo & Beira.

We had the privilege to visit the Ywam Dondo Base – where we stayed for about a week. Our team were so blessed by the hospitality that was shown towards us by this Base. During this week in Dondo, we had the opportunity to minister to many children in a small community – we sang songs with them, danced with them, painted their faces and we had a lot of fun together. It was amazing to see how these “simple” things, touched their lives.

We also ministered in a local church – where we were received with open arms, our team prayed individually for the whole congregation, for healing and blessing. One of the men that had a lot of problems with his knee and suffered from chronic pain – testified that he had been healed and that all the pain was gone. He even accompanied us as we walked 2km back to our home. And one of our team members even had the privilege to give a name to a new born baby that was presented to the church. The baby’s name now is Grace. Thanks Vimbai…for choosing a name!
It was a huge blessing for us as a team to have taken part in a 2-day Conference
in Beira. The speaker for these 2 days was Jim Stier and God really spoke a lot to us about: “Living our missionary life, full of joy…” & “Bringing God’s Kingdom to earth”. We were very inspired through his life.

At this moment we are serving in different ministries in Machava, Maputo. We have been working with different churches in the community and one of these churches is a Rwandan Refugee Church. Friday evening we will have an opportunity to work with prostitutes in Maputo, where our team will present a drama, dance; we will give soup and share God’s love for them.

We have been growing a lot as a team through different things that have been happening since our outreach started. We came to Mozambique with a schedule, possible ministry opportunities, and different locations to be visited. Since we have crossed the border, almost none of our plans became a reality – all the doors closed in front of us. At this point in time and after seeking God together as a team, we are stronger & learning how to let God lead us in His ways.

Thank you very much for all your support, your prayers & encouragements. It has been very important for us.
Please continue praying for us, that God will give us a lot of wisdom and grace as we are leading this team. We really want our team to have a great outreach experience, so that they can become passionate about the Nations.
